Studies have linked dust containing phthalates from homes with PVC flooring with increased asthma, rhinitis, and eczema. PVC flooring in the child's bedroom was the strongest predictor of respiratory ailments.
Some carpet backing and other flooring products contain a PVC backing. We work with manufacturers who produce products with an alternative bio-based backing that is less harmful and persistent than PVC.
