2023 Interior Design Trends you can easily implement right now!

It is just a few days left until the end of 2022. Did you have a chance to enjoy its lime paint and open-plan kitchens? After carefully reviewing many sources and designer choices, I want to share some major interior design and decor trends for the upcoming 2023.

Here are my personal top 5.

  1. Sustainability

Let's start with the definition. By sustainable design, we would typically consider natural materials, minimalism to some degree, and reduction of negative impacts on the environment and our planet. So how can it be practically achieved?

First of all, I would like to point out vintage. By reusing already existing items, we are not only avoiding overproduction but also bringing history into our spaces.

Check out a few nice vintage items I found for you on Etsy.

We can always find natural materials in our interiors, such as wood, stone, and metal. But how to make more sustainable choices? Furniture and accessories made from recycled materials will help you to implement this trend into your space. 2. Mid Century Modern

Mid Century is one of the main trends of the upcoming year. Let's be honest; an Eames chair is always a trendy item for your home and office and will stay with us for a while. However, the trend on Mid Century Modern Design doesn't mean you have to cover your room in wooden panels or renovate your farmhouse into a glass box. By adding some accessories from that era and mixing them with existing decor, you can effortlessly end up with an exciting and appealing interior. Here are some items I found to make the interior upgrade simple for you.

3. Functionality

Especially the functionality of the kitchen. After endless open-plan kitchens, which probably can never be used as "the kitchen," this trend is very exciting. It is pleasant to see those marble shelves with very few brass decorative kitchen supplies and a massive vase on the countertop. And that's it. No dishes accidentally left by your family member, dirty glassware, casually thrown kitchen towel, or yesterday's dinner leftovers. For those who live by themselves and are not a big fan of homemade meals, keeping a set up like from pages of interior design magazines will be easy enough. But how about the family of five who loves to cook together and wants to have the quality time instead of rearranging plates after breakfast? Or have a mental breakdown because of the orange juice stained white marble countertop? Great news - an actually functional kitchen is a big trend now.

4. Colors

Pantone announced the Viva Magenta color of the year. It might seem intense after years of total white, gray, or other neutral interiors. However, if you already have one of those, it will be even simpler to add some colors without fully renovating the space.

5. Biophilia

Having the right plants in your apartment can positively impact your mental and physical health. And on top of it, those greens look great in any interior. And, of course, find a cute planter! Just choose whatever suits you better and remember to water.
